Low power transformer TUP80RV
The TUP80RV low power current transformer with millivolt (225mV) output is designed for Smart Grid monitoring. This product is installed directly on insulated medium-voltage cables, making it ideal for outdoor applications. The resin encapsulation and plastic enclosure allows the current transformer can be installed directly outdoors. All this makes it possible for it to function optimally without its characteristics being affected or suffering degradation over time.

The TUP80RV has a rated primary current of either 500 A or 1000 A. Its continuous overload capacity is 1.5 times the rated current, and it can withstand a short-circuit current of up to 60 times the rated current. In addition, the transformer has a high insulation capacity, with a test voltage of 3kV for 1 minute, complying with EN 61869-1, EN 61869-2, EN 61869-8 and EN 61869-10. Other features to be taken into account are:
- This low power transformer has the option of having the P1 side in a different colour, which makes it easier to identify polarity during the installation process.
- The rated secondary voltage is 225 mV, a perfect value for applications requiring high accuracy in current monitoring.
- The secondary output connection is made via a cable with RJ45 connector, using pins 1 (S1) and 2 (S2).
- Mounting on the cover plate.

The following are the ratings of the TUP80RV low power transformers, which ensure their correct operation in different applications:
- Rated primary current (In): This parameter indicates the amount of current that the transformer can handle on the primary side, within a range of 500 to 1000 A. This value is important to determine the transformer's ability to handle the electrical demand without overloading.
- Rated secondary voltage: The voltage on the secondary side of the transformer is fixed at 225 mV.
- Permissible load: The maximum load that the transformer can withstand without affecting its operation is ≥ 10 kΩ.
- Accuracy class: The transformer's accuracy in current measurement and conversion is rated at 0.2s, which is a high level of accuracy.
The low-power transformer TUP80RV is available in two versions: one with encapsulated cable, ideal for environments where greater protection against external wear and tear is required, and another wireless version, with RJ45 connection for easy connection of the desired cable.
