Description: The measurement converters transform any electrical magnitude into a direct or alternating current intensity or voltage, thus, they are used in those installations in which it is necessary to centralise the measurements, allowing the signalling panel to be placed at a distance from the points where it is desired to measure. Conventional converters (AT…) have an analogue output in milliamperes or volts which is proportional to the value of the magnitude they are measuring.
Their use has the following advantages:
- Increased accuracy and reliability
- Easy transport of the measurement signal by means of two small cross-section cables or shielded cable.
- Possibility of computer processing of all the data obtained.
- Low input consumption allowing the use of smaller measuring transformers.
- Savings in materials and installation assembly costs.
- Savings in the stock of measuring equipment by supplying a standardised output signal.
