Australian Navy Ships

The Royal Australian Navy is the naval branch of the Australian Defence Force. Following Federation of Australia in 1901, the ships and resources of the independent colonial navies were integrated into a national force: the Commonwealth Naval Forces. Originally conceived for local defence, the Navy was granted the title ‘Royal Australian Navy’ in 1911 and took on increasing responsibility for the defence of the region. SACI, through its collaboration with the shipyards manufacturing these ships, has supplied specific instrumentation for the DNV-certified ship frames.
Today, the RAN is one of the largest and most sophisticated naval forces in the Pacific region, with a significant presence in the Indian Ocean, conducting operations around the world in support of military campaigns and peacekeeping missions.
